Hi, today I want to show you three different ways on how to get rid of pen marks off the wall. I know how it feels to have pen marks all over the wall, especially when a toddler or 2 toddlers do it.
One day, I heard my boys laughing historically. From past experience,
I knew they were up to something. I quickly ran to see what they were up to, but it was too late. The hallway and their bedroom walls were covered in pen marks. 😮
That’s when I started my search on the best methods to get rid of those stubborn pen marks off the wall.
Method #1
My favorite method is using rubbing alcohol. It cost less than a dollar, and there’s no need to scrub the wall.
You’ll pour the rubbing alcohol on a small fabric or a cotton ball. Squeeze out the excess rubbing alcohol and gently dap the pen mark on the wall. Keep dabbing until the pen mark disappears.
Method #2
If you don’t have rubbing alcohol at home and don’t want to drive to the store, you can use hairspray. Hairspray has alcohol in it, which is why it’ll also help to get rid of the pen marks.
I sprayed a cotton wipe with hairspray and then gently dabbed the pen marks. Hairspray does leave a sticky residue. So make sure to dab gently, so you don’t take the paint off the wall.
You could try spraying the wall, but hairspray might leak down the wall, which might give you a bigger mess. Wash the wall with soapy water after you use hairspray to get rid of the sticky residue.
Method #3
The last method is using Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. All you have to do is wet the sponge. Squeeze and erase. But add a little elbow grease. Not too much or else it will rub the paint off the wall.
Be careful using the Mr.Clean Magic Eraser on colored painted walls because it did rub off a little of the paint in my kid’s room. I could see where the pen marks were just by the lighter shade of blue where I used the Magic Eraser.
Out of all of these methods, I genuinely recommend using rubbing alcohol. No elbow work needed, no sticky residue, no accidentally rubbing the paint off the wall, and the clean walls will thank you.
Let me know down in the comment if you tried any of these methods.
Thank you for stopping by and have a good day!
