Welcome to Flylady baby steps day 14 for getting your home and life in order.
Like these past couple of weeks, we need to work on our morning routines and the before-bed routine.
Morning Routine
- Dress to Shoes (I get dressed to socks) (Day 2)
- Read Your Post-It Notes (Day 4)
- Read Flylady’s Website/App/Emails (Day 3)
- Make Time for Yourself (Day 5)
- 2-Minute Hot Spot Clean (Day 6)
- 5-Minute Rescue a Room (Day 9)
- Declutter 15-Minutes Every Day (10)
- Work on Your Control Journal and Use it Daily (Day 8)
Before Bed Routine
I’ll be honest with you. I’m in a busy season where I have four little boys and a dog, and I can’t get all the morning routine baby steps done in the morning right when I wake up.
So I’m breaking down the morning routine into two routines. This way, I can do everything that has to get done(keeping little ones alive) in the morning while building my Flylady baby steps.
That way, the Flylady baby steps will work for me and my lifestyle.
New Routines
Now I’ll have two-morning routines or a morning and afternoon routine.
I’ll make my bed, get dressed, and do the hot spot clean in the morning.
Then I’ll move the room rescue and 15-minute decluttering session after breakfast when my kids run off to play.
Flylady Baby Step Day 14
Today we need to go on Flylady’s website to read her calendar blog post.
The blog post tells us how to use a calendar.
Flylady encourages you to get your calendar/planner. It doesn’t matter whether you want a large wall-size, a smaller desk, or a notebook-sized one as long as you have one for your family and start using it!
You can use the calendar/planner in so many different ways:
- Family/Friend’s Birthday
- Invitations
- Special Days like Anniversary
- Doctor App.
- Dentist App.
- Playdates
This way, you won’t forget what’s coming up, and your brain won’t have to remember so many important dates and information.
Flylady’s Tip
Flylady’s tip is to put your Calendar in high-traffic areas.
Most people put their calendars in the kitchen or the bathroom.
I like to keep my Calendar in my living room right by the kid’s clipboards and my control journal.
Watch the video for more ideas on using the Calendar for meal planning and jotting down special moments/memories.
Update
I recorded the Flylady Baby Step Youtube Videos a couple of years ago, and I’m so thankful for Flylady’s tip on using a calendar/planner.
I still use my calendar/planner every single day. It makes my life so much more productive, and it helps my kids understand days/weeks/months better because they see the Calendar every day.
Favorite Calendar + Planners
My favorite Calendar for birthdays, invites, appointments, etc., is the Day Designer Brand. It’s a perfect size for my family’s needs.
I also loved using the Day Designer Planner. Next time I need a planner, I want to try using Erin Condren Planners.
What’s your favorite planner to use?
