Hi, today I’ll show you how to clean your kitchen sink with baking soda and vinegar.
1) Wash the dishes that you have in the sink or put them on the counter.
2) Rinse your sink and your drain with hot water.
3) Turn on your garbage disposal for a couple of seconds while the water is running.
4) Take out the sink splash guard(if it comes off), kitchen sink caddy, sink stopper and other sink accessories and put them in a large bowl.
5) Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda into the drain. Let the baking soda sit in the drain for 5 minutes while we continue cleaning.
6) Now we’ll make a cleaning solution to wash all the sink parts. Add in about 1/3 cup of baking soda, 1 tbsp dawn dish soap and 1 cup of vinegar, and 1 cup of water into the bowl. Make sure to pour the vinegar a little at a time or else you will have the foam reaction all over your counter. The baking soda mixture will get rid of the grease and soap residue.
7) Spray your sink with vinegar/dawn/water solution, which is one part water, one part vinegar, and a little bit of dawn dish soap.
8) Get your baking soda out and sprinkle the baking soda all over the kitchen sink.
9) The baking soda was in the drain for about 5 minutes. Now we can add in 2 cups of vinegar into the drain. Make sure to add vinegar a little at a time or else you will have an excellent science experiment.
10) Use a wet sponge or a brush to clean the sink. The bottom of the sink will have the most baking soda, so you’re welcome to dip your sponge in the baking soda to clean the sink.
11) Now we’ll clean the sink’s edges. I love using a small brush or a toothbrush to get every corner, especially around the food waste disposer.
12) Now lets clean the kitchen sink caddy, splash guard, and other sink accessories. Use a soft sponge to clean all of the parts with warm water and put everything aside to dry. Pour out the baking soda/vinegar mixture into the sink and rinse the bowl.
13) Rinse the sink with hot water.
14) Spray the faucet with all-purpose method cleaner and wipe it down clean with a dry microfiber cloth. I love using the method cleaner because it smells better than vinegar, but you’re welcome to use your favorite all-purpose cleaner.
15) Now let’s shine the sink. Spray the sink with method all-purpose cleaner (or vinegar/water) and wipe it clean with a dry microfiber cloth.
16) The last step is to put all the sink accessories back to its place.
This cleaning process took less than 20 minutes.
Enjoy the shiny sink before the next dish or 2 appears out of nowhere.
Thank you for stopping by and have a good day!
